The Shirt

To be sure, I do like the shirt — I wear

it often. I’ve been told that deep sea blue

does something for my eyes, suggests a flair

I don’t actually possess. Oh, but you

do — a flair for stalking bargain bins, seeing

treasure amid trash. And while it’s true

that you’re most at home in thrift stores and flea

markets, you have regal taste. When they stare

at my shirt, I think of you thinking of me.
