Loopy Lee

Move along mister tell me what do you see

I see a lively little lady name of Loopy Lee

it was a big bad shock for the wife and me

to hear a whale got her tail in the soupy sea

it sorta puts a damper on the newness of the fall

and I feel a little funny bout the nowness of it all

Well take it easy mister tell me what you gonna do

I might wiggle in my walkman crack another brew

then I'll fire up a hooter scratch an itch & spin a tale

till I giggle like a maniac who's sailin off the rails

there's no point in pretendin that I'm saintly when I'm not

sometimes the sunshine can really hit the spot

Yeah but weren't you & Loopy sorta chummy as they say

You better watch it now bud you're gettin carried away

ol Loopy & me were as thick as thieves

we used to trade a little tickle hidin under the eaves

but now Loop's gone her way & I gone mine

you see the price you gotta pay depends on where you draw the line

You're soundin cynical mister get a hold of yourself

I got the itch for the road I wasn't built for the shelf

if you'd seen what I seen you'd play it like me

thumb a ride around the world seein what there is to see

But aren't you forgettin a little thing or two

now don't get huffy I'm just trackin down the truth

see I read a little formula for findin out the facts

now the past is out of being like a candle out of wax

the future's still unwritten like a song that's not been sung

Yeah that's easy to feel when you've had your fun

but my ears are still ringing from the bells you've rung

you left a little Loopy lingering in everything you've done
